This directory combines County, state, federal and selected municipality-source records with a grouped inventory from Chester County GIS. The County GIS description covers fee-owned municipal recreation parcels, including trails, currently open to the public. Its March 7, 2025 data snapshot contains 233 polygon features grouped here into 213 facility-name and municipality listings across 64 municipalities; same-name parcel rows are grouped, and one repeated parcel row is counted once. The County separately reported about 220 municipal parks across 73 municipalities in its 2024 budget. The GIS layer is a broad public-recreation inventory, but it is not a complete current list of every park, easement, nonprofit or state and federal site; absence of a municipality or place from this snapshot does not mean it lacks public recreation.
